GIANCARLO GIULIANI

Bass saxophoneWas born in L’Aquila (Italy) in 1990.

Extremely dedicated and self-motivated Classical saxophonist he started his academic studies at the Conservatory “A. Casella” graduated in 2015.

Later Giancarlo studied with Maestro Federico Mondelci at the Conservatory “Gioachino Rossini” of Pesaro, graduating with Honours in 2017.

During his formation He took part in numerous Master-classes with some of the most important saxophonist in the world, like Nikita Zimin, Philippe Geiss, Lars Mlekusch, Sergey Kolesov, Hayrapet Arakelyan.

During his studies Giancarlo had conducted a deep research towards finding a unique sound. This allowed him to easily adapt his instrumental technique to different repertoire and from classical to contemporary music.

Giancarlo won a succession of awards, scholarships and competitions including the special prise “Star” at “Future Stars” international competition.

Very soon, and still very young, he gives birth to a sax quartet “ The 4G”, moreover he has been the solo sax player in the “Musicomix-Orchestra” since 2009.

He has performed with countless orchestras and conductors worldwide. Among them the “Italian Orchestrafor the cinema”, with whom he played in 2012 in Ravello Festival, conducted by  Ernest Van Tiel on the occasion of the World cine-concert première “ The Artist” in collaboration with the Oscar winner Ludovic Bource.

As soloist or as part of a chamber music formation, he plays in Italy, Malta, United Kingdom and China.

Giancarlo is also a good event/artist manager: From 2013 to 2015 he collaborated with the Artistic Direction of the Concert Association “I Solisti Aquilani” under the conduction of M° Maurizio Cocciolito;

From 2012 to 2015 he organized a chamber music season called “Fatti di Musica” for talented young musicians, in collaboration with the Conservatory of L’Aquila.

In 2016 He was on the board of the 4° edition of the “Urania young musical performance price”.

Giancarlo is very versatile saxophone player, he plays all saxophones from the Bass to the Sopranino. Music is his passion, he continues to study and performing in all Europe.

He is a strong supporter of contemporary music and he reached a brilliant instrumental technique.

A composition has been dedicated to him, “ Walking Jazz Bass Sax” by  Lamberto Lugli.

In 2018 Giancarlo  moved to London to pursue his music and his outpouring of creativity.

He performed as Soloist and different chamber formations.

Moreover, he is expired  music teacher with 6 years of experience in the private and public sector.
